Classroom routines are settling a bit, students are getting into the groove of things, and we are really starting to dig deeper into our curriculum! So I have teamed up with Educents and some other bloggers to offer you this great First Grade Literacy Bundle at a huge discount for a limited time! (And keep reading for an opportunity to win an item from my store!)
In my pack, I have three specific citizenship lessons. I've included plans on how to use them in the classroom with your students.
I read lots of books to my kids to give them lots of background knowledge on rule following and proper classroom behavior.
We talked a lot about our classroom's rules and how we could get along with each other! I taught the kids a fun song about rules that's included in the pack as well!
I used some mini-anchor charts to teach about telling versus tattling...along with a great situational game that I made up to generate discussions with the kids about the differences between telling and tattling. We had a blast with that! :)
My last lesson was on how to use your words to diffuse a situation. It's a great way to help kids gain independance and set personal boundaries. We practiced this using some role playing cards. The kids are now EXPERTS at using it! :) It's fun to hear them using it occasionally at centers! :)
Throughout the series of lessons we wrote about what we were learning from our books and classroom experiences.
We wrapped up the project with a personalized craft extension.
All of these activities are found in this fun citizenship pack! :)
There are 17 other products in our bundle to get your kids learning! Hop along to see all the goodies you will get!
Hop on over to Daina's blog next to see another product in the pack!
