Orange Ya' Glad it's a Blog Hop?

Glad that you were able to join us for the third annual Orange Ya' Glad it's a Blog Hop!

If you have hopped with us in the past, some things will be familiar, and some things will be new!

This year, all of our bloggers are focusing on free tips or ideas that they can share with you to get your school year off to a great start.  Some ideas will have a freebie, others might just be a stand alone concept.  The idea is to try and share things that will solve problems and create a happy and stress free first few weeks!

Let's get started!

This year, I'm focusing more on developing character in my littles so, I came up with this idea!

Each month my students will have a character quality to focus on.  We will read books that support those themes.  We might even learn a few songs! :)

At the end of each day, we'll get together on the carpet for 'I Spy Good Character' time! 

I will put the magnifying glass up to my eye and look around the classroom.

Then I'll call up a student and tell the class what 

I saw them doing that exemplified good character! :)

To get this going, I just cut the circles out of the centers of the magnifying glasses and laminated the whole thing so that I could 'see' through them.  Then I hot glued a large Popsicle stick to the back so that it would be firmer in my hand.

Remember to praise them when they are doing the right thing!

Send home a short note to remind them that they are doing a great job!

Make sure to celebrate all of your students at least once in a month!

You'll be surprised at how willing they are to try, when they know you're trying to catch them doing the right things!

We will be having an Instagram giveaway again!  At the bottom of each post, there will be a letter. 

 The letters all work together to give you the name of a type of orange!  This year is a bit tricky...it's a two word name!  **Hint: Starting on my blog and going through will give you the right answer!** 

Once you've solved the puzzle...take a picture of the answer.
