Well, it's my last full week of teaching content this week, and I decided to go with a unit on Memorial Day! :) I know...it may seem dry for some of you out there, but, actually, my students have really gotten into the whole idea of honoring those who serve us and it's been nice to hear how they are growing in this area.
We started off the week using some resources from Dina over at the Constant Kindergartener. You can check out her blog by clicking her button below...
She has a sweet little Memorial Day pack in her store that has a really great anchor text that teaches all about the history of the holiday. You can check out her pack by clicking on the picture below.
I also read the book, Don't Forget, God Bless our Troops, By Jill Biden. It was on sale at the Scholastic Book Fair this week, and was the perfect addition to my little mini-unit! :)
We made cards for a sweet friend of mine who is serving! :) I can't wait to share those with you guys when they are done! :)
We also started working on my Memorial Day Craftivity Writing. The kids are doing pretty good so far.. :) I will add some pictures in my next post...but for now...I am off to school! :) I hope you are having a great last few days with your kiddos like I am with mine! :)
