Fun times at SDE!

Oh my goodness everyone!
I finished my first ever PD session for SDE today! :)  You can read about how I took the steps to be considered for presenting through them by reading THIS POST.  I was presenting on integration!  It was so much fun! :)

I had about 20 people there...and they were all so smiley and sweet!
They even let me take a selfie so that I could remember the moment! :)

I talked about creating integrated units for first and second grades.  I shared things that I did with my students that my kids liked.  I even did an experiment! :)

This past year, I created a STEAM unit on making bubbles and I showed the teachers how I used oil, water, and salt to teach surface tension and density!  They seemed to like it a lot! The experiment, along with a few other activities that would go with a STEAM unit were included in this unit that is on Teachers Pay Teachers.

This unit has four experiments designed to look more closely at density, surface tension and the concept of sink and float.  With each one, students will record their data and draw or write to discuss their observations.

This is my new sweet friend Jessica from The Differentiation Station! She helped me demo 'Bug and Wish from my super popular unit...

I also shared an activity from my companion unit...

I taught all of the participants how to do the activity, Feelin' Fine!
We talked about working with students on their feelings. We also talked about fun ways to help them practice sharing their feelings with others.

Overall I really enjoyed sharing with the teachers who came to see me!
I hope that they will ask me to present for them again! :)
