Hello Everyone! :)
I'm happy to be back for a second week of Peek at My Week with the dear Dee Dee Wills of Mrs. Wills' Kindergarten!
It was an incredibly busy week for me!
It was my first week with the kids!
We did several activities together....
We learned all about bus procedures with a emergent reading text I wrote, and a writing extension craft.
The kids did a great job on their writing! :)
I was so excited! :)
We also made these wonderful lunchboxes from Rowdy in Room 300! :)

For my firsties, I chose to give them the sentence stem: In the cafeteria, I will...and they completed the sentence. I read several mentor texts to them, and showed them the school's powerpoint on cafeteria procedures to help scaffold their writing. They did a fantastic job! :)
We also started Daily 5 rotations! :)
The kids are doing a fantastic job with stamina!
I'm so proud of my littles! :)
It was also the first full week of classes for my wonderful intern Casey! :)
The kids LOVE him! He's super sweet and makes every kid feel so special! :)
I can't wait to watch him take over the class little by little and bring his special style to our room!
I'm very lucky to have had two wonderful intern experiences back to back! :)
At the end of the first day, I treated myself to one of my favorite things...Japanese Hibachi! :) I went FULL on folks...a filet and a lobster tail! :)
The leftovers were DELICIOUS for dinner the second night! :)
Next up...my visual plans for the week! :)
I am continuing to work through my morning work and calendar routine, but, I'm super excited to be adding resources from Tammy Wathen's Interactive Phonics Notebook! :) It's so new...it's not even in her store yet! :) Look for a post on this soon! :)
I discovered that my students struggle with counting backwards this past week, so, I'm going to begin work in our GO MATH books, and continue working on counting strategies with my Nutty for Numbers Pack!
We are wrapping up our citizenship unit with resources from our social studies basal this week. Their finished writing crafts are going to be so good! :) Can't wait to share the finished product with you next week!
We are slowly stepping into centers. We are primarily focusing on word work, reading to self, and reading to someone this week.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my visual plans. If you would like a hard copy of them with the links embedded, please click HERE.
Have a wonderful week!
